Aftercare Instructions

Second Skin (AKA Saniderm, Tegaderm, Tattoo Derm, etc.):
Leave the bandage on for 2-3 days as long as the bandage stays on completely. If at any point the bandage leaks or exposes any part of the tattoo, or if it is bothering your skin/showing any kind of reaction, it should be removed immediately.
I recommend removing the bandage in the shower under warm water - remove the second skin by pulling an edge the opposite direction from the bandage. Wash immediately with either Dial Soap or Dr. Bronner’s soap. Follow standard aftercare instructions after you remove the second skin bandage.

Standard Aftercare
Remove your bandage after two hours and wash immediately with Dial Soap or Dr. Bronner’s soap. Make sure to remove any traces of blood or plasma. Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a very thin layer of Lubriderm (or similar fragrance-free) lotion. A little goes a long way - if the tattoo feels greasy, sticky or shiny, there is too much. Gently blotting the area with a clean paper towel can help remove excess. Repeat 2-3 times a day for two weeks. Your tattoo will take two to four weeks to heal.
DO NOT:
-Touch your tattoo with dirty hands or cloth towels - clean paper towels only!
-Wash with anything abrasive,
-Pick or scratch,
-Soak in any water for three weeks (no hot tubs, baths or swimming),
-Wear tight clothes over your fresh tattoo.
-Sleep with pet(s) while your tattoo heals!
When you leave the shop, your tattoo isn’t finished yet. The healing process is just as important as the application. It’s up to you to maintain hygienic care and common sense to heal properly. If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know!
